? For those with gear change
Anyone who has done a gear change to a 4:56 or 4:88, was it worth it? Does it make the truck faster off the line? What are your overall thoughts after it was done? How has gas mileage changed? I have been thinking about doing it for a while but just wondered if the cost was worth it. Thanks

i had 3.73's and 35's for about a year, it wasnt terrible but it was a slug. always searching for a gear around 40-45 mph going up a hill.
a few months ago I upgraded to 38's and went with Yukon 4.88's and i can say it was the best mod ive done so far. Acceleration is awesome, i am able to keep up/beat traffic from the get go. Plenty of power available if i need to pass someone on the highway. Rpm's on flat highway are about 2,200 @ 75 mph. cant really comment on the gas mileage since i stopped checking it after i went with 35s
Overall i am completely satisfied with the gears, if you have the extra cash laying around def upgrade the gears especially if your running 35"+ tires.
Depending on where you live (labor rates) regearing a 4x4 parts/labor is about $1,500
