That sucks man. A couple of weeks ago i brought my wifes Mustang to work, she needed my truck for the night, and i work 12 hour shifts. A crap load of cars and trucks got broken into including the stang. I lucked out because 1. there was nothing to steal 2. I accidently left the door unlocked so no harm done to the car but the feeling is still there. One of the guys on my crew didnt luck out tho. They messed the key lock, then pryed the door open and ripped the tumbler out of the column in an attempt to steal the truck.

That sure is a nice ride.

Just get that alarm in and things will be much better. Perhaps it's time for the parents to put up a big floodlight in the front yard?

I love our part of town, but from 0200 to 0600 AM, it can be like that movie "I am legend". Lights, locks, LOCK AND LOAD seems to work for me.

Heck, since you need new glass, just have them throw on tint as part of the deal. Should be easy. Good luck!

Let me know what kind to stereo you end up going with. My truck has everything except factory nav. I am debating putting a nice aftermarket nav/audio head in there.

I hope the local police took samples of the blood. Maybe the "nim-rods" who broke into your truck are already in the police system and could be identified......

Well, the truck is at a new shop. After dropping it off on Thursday I called them yesterday to see what it was going to cost and where they were at. Annnnd they hadn't even started yet!! Needless to say I took the truck and ended up taking it to the dealership body shop of where I bought it from. That was yesterday and they called me this morning saying it was going to be $2000 (I got $1000 deductible), and that's if they don't replace the drivers airbag and not including the radio replacement. So theyve started working there. Then I called up the stereo shop that was dealing with the replacement and they informed me that since the d3 that I had isn't made anymore, they were going to replace it with the new Pioneer AVIC X920bt. Paid for by insurance. So hopefully this gets wrapped up soon and Alba will be back good as new. Tired of driving a stupid little Nissan car to work...

Welcome to the club

5/25/10.

Stole an Eclipse AVN5510.

Viper 5901 is going in along with a JVC KW-NT3HDT with detachable face. I'm also looking into a camera with a motion detection DVR. Camera set up runs about $200 and is easy to do but pointless with the alarm.

The Viper's two way pager will live on the night stand at night. Pistol, Surefire, and running shoes at the front door.

Unfortunately, there is no off street parking where I live.

If your airbag light is on, it's most likely from the airbag light at the top of the center console being disconnected.

Stopped by the local pawn shop today just for giggles, and turns out they had a d3 there with the same tabs missing that I still had stuck in my dash. But the kid there said that it been there since february. Apparently it was just a big coincidence...

I Hate thieves. They have been breaking in alot recently where I work. And just the other day one of the guys walked out back and saw a group of kids next to my truck and one with his fist in his shirt like he was going to punch the window out. Would have been the 2nd time I have been broken into their as well. But the security at the shopping center is horrible and never patrols. You definitely need to get an alarm on your truck if you have been broken into 4 times in less than a year. might as well get it done with the repairs when its all pretty much taken apart.

Neighbors F150 got brocken into, i quickly had a 5901 installed added a proximity and extra shock sensor. Sure as SH**, about a week later it went-off! By the time i got out there they were gone but the truck was intact.

many owners think that red blinking light on the dash is an alarm, it's sometimes too late when they discover otherwise.

True that. The turds figured that out a few years ago. Now they will slap the door, or rock the vehicle looking for a motion/shock sensor. If the vehicle does not chirp or something, odds are that it's just a blinking light and not an alarm.

I'd almost want to disable the warning chirp feature. Just have it set off the 2-way pager and I'm all of 50 feet away.

Then the police would have no choice to collect blood samples since it'd be sprayed all over the place.

I still think it's bulls*** how little the police really care about break-ins. Let it be an assault or homicide and I guarantee there would be a blood collection unit show up.

As far as the pawn shop is concerned, another call to the police is in order. Tell them you found your stereo and can prove that it was the one that came out of your truck. I bet the punk counter kid would change his story.

Try www.searchtempest.com. It searches all of craigslist and ebay within given distance from your zipcode.

When I reported mine to the police they just did a phone report. Never even bothered to come out to look at it. Didn't want pictures emailed to them or anything. I even offered to drive it to the police department and was told they don't have anyone who can look at it.

....and people wonder why crime rates are rising where I live...

Ask them to demo the unit --- plug it into a 12 volt power source. Check the locations/memory in the GPS. If it's yours, you'll know.
