Blowing Power Stearing Lines
Having issues with power stearing line from the pump to the axel, this is the third line I have blown in a year and a half, it blows at the rubber section of the hose and only in 4 wheel drive. Does anybody know if I need a stronger hose or do I have a problem with axel and the 4 wheel drive system?
The truck is a 2005 F-150 with a V8 Triton
Please let me know.
Thank you

im not sure where your located but damage to the pressure hose usually happens in very cold weather when the fluid thickens up and the pressure gets very high. Up here after we change the hose we fill the system with full synthetic mercon.
Im in Northwest Alaska and so far I've blown 3 hoses on the pressure side of the pump and I was using pretty light fluid wonder if anything is wrong with the front end as it only happens in four wheel drive, dumb question but where would I get this synthetic mercon?
any auto parts store will have a full synthetic mercon ATF or equivelent. Amsoil, Royal Purple ect...cant see it having anything to do with the front end unless your running 44inch tires...
make sure you flush the whole system. take the return line off of the reservior and run it into a bucket. Then plug return hole in the bottom of the reservior. Fill the reservior and have a friend turn the wheel back and forth with the truck running while you continue to pour it in.
