Passenger window Help!

Hey guys! I need some help! 04 Lariat Screw and the passenger window went down and won't go back up......
I hear the motor working but the window went down really slow. I am very novice and I know this thread is vague but I just need some help. Is this something that I can fix myself or with the help of a buddy or am I better off taking it to a shop. Its supposed to rain soon and I need to get this taken care of. Thanks in advance!!!

Did you ever hear any kind of pop or anything. That would be a good sign. I would say the regulator is shot being your problem most likely, but don't take my word I don't know much about windows. I would say at least take the door panels off if you feel comfortable with that and see. The window may just be froze up in the tracks. I know there are ways to "recalibrate" your window in the tracks so to speak and grease it up all at the same time.

Actually it's an easy job. I had never done one, but now I've done it twice. It'll take about an hour or so. Hardest part is getting everything lined up to get the door panel to drop back into place. Not hard, just need patience. A little heads up, trim the speaker opening where it has to slip over those plastic spacers that the speaker actually attaches to. That was holding me off and complicating things. A couple of minutes with my pocket knife to releive a couple of "notched to slide over the "spacers" and life it much better.

Get the parts from www.rockauto.com. I got the Dorman part at Advanced, but rock is about $40 cheaper. It has a lifetime warranty.

Read the link above and go for it. It'll save you, I'd guess, at least $150 doing it yourself. Not bad pay for an hour or so of work.

In the meantime, get the door panel off. Pull the clear plastic liner off the door metal. Push your window back up by hand, no big deal. While you hold it, get someone to run 4 or 5 strips of painters tape over the top of the door and tape the window up. Now, go get you a piece of 2x2 lumber. Measure roughly from the bottom inside of the door frame to the bottom of the glass. Cut the 2x2 to length and then cut a small, shallow notch in one end that the glass will set in. Stick it in the access hole, large in rear half, and stand it up under the glass. I then picked out a couple of spots of blank door shell and drilled 2 small holes and put 3" deck or drywall screws threw them into the 2x2 to stabilize it. I ran mine like that for a week or so with no issues.

Hope all that rambline helps. Seriously, get your feet wet and do this yourself. You'll need only a few small handtools and a small amount of patience.

Don't think you'll regret it. Not hard at all. Read on the 4th page of the how-to about the plug polarity. Try it first and if wrong itaks a quick fix.

Does anyone know if the front and rear doors on a screw use the same part? My rear passenger window popped and started to drop yesterday AM, I stuck a few shims in it to keep it up. I want to get the parts ordered, but no one seems to have the parts listed for the rear doors. Thanks!
