Post New Bakflip G2 Tonneau on 5.5' Bed [PICS and VIDEO]

Hey guys. I posted this in 09-10 forums but this same cover fits the 04-08 supercrews with the 5.5' box so figured I would post it here incase any of you were trying to decide on a cover. I had the old style G2 on my 2007 but when I bought my 2010 F-150 I bought another G2 and was surprised by a variety of changes.

I wrote up a quick "review" with a lot of opinions, pictures and a video for any of you who may be interested in a Bakflip. Whatever you decide good luck and I hope this helps you make your decision for or against.

Thanks!

I like the cover, especially the security and lower profile than my rollup; but hate the way it leans against the rear window of the truck when completely open.

Great job! I had the same list of wants for a tonneau and like you decided on a BakFlip. I'm on my 2nd one now and still love it. An added advantage I've found, the flexible rubber lip at the tailgate end seals nicely against my Roush spoiler. In fact, when I went to replace the original, BakFlip was the only tonneau I found that would work with the spoiler - every other brand I tried would have required its removal.

In fact, recently (after a few weeks of not having opened the tailgate) I went to open it and it did not release when I hit the latch. For a moment I thought I'd locked it - turns out that rubber seal was just stuck tight! So no water leakage there.

I'm sold on the BakFlip.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

As far as leaking I can tell you that a Bakflip is like most other add-ons for your truck. You get out of it what you put into it. If you are willing to take some time to ensure the front lip seal is correct (seal included) and seal up your tailgate (seal not included) I think you'll find the bakflip pretty close to water tight.

Good luck everyone. Oh, and that's VERY cool about the spoiler!
