Leaf Spring Replacement tips?

I picked up a set of leaf springs from the salvage yard (one of mine was busted and the truck was abused in the past so I want to replace the set.) I was wondering if there is anything to look out for before I tear into it, should I spray the bolts with penetrating fluid a day in advance? Also should I get new nuts/bolts and/or bushings? (I dont know if if means anything but the bushings look like new in the new set of springs.) Just want to be prepared.

Buy one new bolt and nut for the driverside front spring mount. You will be better off cutting the head off the driverside front bolt, otherwise you will have to drop the gas tank to get it out. The new bolt will go in opposite and still clear the gas tank other than that it is a simple task.

I would buy some replacement nuts and bolts, being from the north and all the salt on the roads they rusted mine together really well and I had to use a torch to get some of them off.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest. The OE springs will just bolt right up w/out needing to 'power pull' them on like aftermarket springs. Also install the shackles on the springs before installing them (assuming the springs don't have them) then get the front bolt in first that way you can just pivot of that bolt and make the final connection with the shackle end (it has more play).
