Gas Milage
Gas Milage
I am looking at getting the BF Goodrich MT tires in 35's. I was wondering what kind of gas milage yall are getting with those or any types of 35's. Also preferably a 5.4 V-8.
I get around 10-12 in town with my Toyo's and around 15 on the highway (70 mph), but if I keep it at around 55 on a flat road I can easily get 18. I drive slow due to this reason most of the time haha.
90% of the time a 4X4 truck is in 4X2 mode so what does that matter?

well, im gonna take a stab here and say that both of us have 4X2 truck, and at least a level would be needed to fit anything much larger than what I am running.
I am running 245/70/17's and I would say that a 1.5' level I might be able to fit 33's maybe
now I am no expert, but a 245/70/17 is like a 30" tire? so a 275/70/17 (do they make such a tire? they do I looked it up.) would almost be a 33" tire.
That would require at least a level in front and a good pick of tire brand/make and tread to avoid rubbing, maybe a little rubbing.
Now for a 35" tire I think a lift would be needed on a 4X2, and level on a 4X4 but its gonna rub w/o proper spacing and tire pick.
A overly aggressive tire is going to rub, where a mild A/T tire won't.
That said I wish I had bought a slightly larger tire, yet not that much, and I had a level.
I could be wrong, thought.

I get about 13.5 in town, 16.5 - 17 highway. I am running 35s with 3.55 gears (I need to regear desparately!).
Engine mods to get there are Gotts mod, K&N Drop In filter, VMP Tuned XCal2.
I have a neighbor with a similar truck (Screw instead of Scab) but he has 4.56 gears and a 4" Rancho. He is pulling 20mpg on the road between Houston and Austin on a regular basis...
