oh I know how metric tire sizes work and all that. just saying what I perceive and that there is an odd tire out there that is noticeably off from its listed size. they do look slightly bigger to me on all 4. if they actually are and if so, why, or if its just my imagination, don't know, don't care. could very well be the latter lol
anyhow, here they are:
anyhow, here they are:
Oh, and you painter the lower part black? Looks good too.

I've had 245s, I can't argue you haha
The black 2 tone has been there a while, it's just a brush job with cheap rust paint. Did it mostly to fent off rust a little longer and cover the little bit that is there already. I don't mind the look though.

Thanks....good thing is, they'll wear out and you can upsize whIle you're replacing them.

As far as 245/70r17's, had them originally, went to 265s and then back to 245's. They don't look as good, but they are easier on brakes, provide better mpgs and the odometer and speedometer are just about perfect. That's the only reason I'm using such a small tire. The next set I'll bump up to either 235/75r17 or 255/70r17 as they're just about the same diameter.

Looks good either way.

I hear you on the tires. I'm running these 265s is simply because they fit and I already had them. Any tires she's had before either came with the truck, we're found for a good deal, or given for free. When it comes to that 04, were I to buy new (hopefully never will), I'd get the small tires.

Spent about 4 hours yesterday Using turtle wax chrome polish and rust remover to clean up my rims and cleaning up the truck. Haven't taken a picture of all 4 clean but they turned out good! The turn to crap so fast ever since day one. Makes me think I got a crap set of rims.

It honestly really makes me think about the quality of motometal. they became so pitted and just crap in such a short amount of time after buying them. That's even with me cleaning and detailing my truck almost every week.

350k miles on that white truck? Wow! It's in great shape for that many miles! What have you had to do maintenance wise since you bought it? Or was the company you bought it from pretty good about that? Cool!

Yup almost 350k! It's in amazing shape for that many miles. The company I bought it from it was a foremans truck That was driven 300ish miles a day for about 2 years straight all highway and almost weekly oil changes/maintenance.

Added a 1/2" spacer. Yes, only 1/2" ha. The thickness of the spacer was about 1/4".
Anyway, it ended up lifting me about an inch. Prior measurements (from center of center cap to wheel well arch) were 22" up front and after installation I was at exactly 23".
I'm fine with it. Had 3.5" of rake before (2.5" rear blocks) and now I have 2.5" of rake. I've kind of been going up and down for a while now trying to get the stance how I wanted it. I think I finally have it.
From what I've learned, you cannot go by the advertised amount of lift the spacers state. Some give more, some give less. If you want to go up 2", depending on the truck, a 1" or 1.5" spacer will get you there and the 2" will give you more than you expected.
Here are the before and after shots. It's barely noticeable in these pics, but I gained 1" up front. Front is now 23" exact, rear is 25.5".

After
Hopefully you can notice a slight difference.
