You're like the guy who owns a ferrari and never goes over 50mph. Whats the point

so ...

1) you take the easy way out
2) you have every thing you need to do it the right way
3)Given the condition of your other modes of transport, you still take the easy way.

you have to be in my shoes for a minute. I don't have time to deal with all this for the next 3 weeks so I didn't have much of a choice not to mention I still needed a torque wrench to do everything the correct way and more time than I have, this is the one vehicle that is still under warranty and runs perfect. I planned on a oil change, not removing the cross member and taking off the pan along with any other issues that may occur not to mention Autozone is a hr away and with no vehicles running properly that would suck. I just wanted it done and if I owned a Ferrari I wouldn't work on it

I think my local jiffy lube take 20 minutes for 20 dollars? something like that. it takes me about 45 minutes at the most simply using a bucket, 3/8's wrench, and a funnell. yea... im hi tech. regardless its been working for me for 20k miles. but i have to agree, if i woned a Ferrari, i wouldnt work on it either.

What part of an oil change requires a torque wrench?
Under engine...
1. Put Pan under truck and remove plug
2. When oil stops replace plug (snugly, no need to gorilla the damn thing on) and move pan under oil filter and remove filter.
3. Rub oil on filter gasket and screw on.
Top of engine
4. Remove oil filler cap and pour 7 quarts of quality oil in.
5. Check dip stick (Hopefully a little overfull)
6. Crank for a coupld seconds and recheck dipstick (Should be dead on

^^^^^

I don't know what part requires hoses or torque wrenchs or even a heated garage for that matter. Don't overcomplicate the process. Gravity always works.

I changed oil on a '88 cutlass supreme in a iced over parking lot with a stuck on oil filter that was probably the original... now if that ain't bad, i dunno what is.

I can't believe he went through all this when all he needed was a hose stretcher.

Yeah, I've seen them in various hardware stores and auto parts stores right between the 3/8" skyhook and muffler bearings.

Torque wrench for the oil pan and if I were to have taken off the cross member.
