35w HIDs

I'm throwing the idea around about getting HIDs for my truck. Does the 35w headlight kit light up well? I'm not sure whether to get the 35w or 55w. I would go with the 5k and order them through DDM Tuning. If you go to their site, their prices are marked down. Does anyone know if that means they're on sale right now or just marked down and showing a new "low price"? I wasn't going to order them right away but if they are really on sale for $30 off, I can't pass up a good deal. If anyone has pics of a 35w kit, please post them so I can see what kind of output they have. I have stock headlights and I'm also thinking about getting the 35w 5k for my round fogs.

35W should be plenty. You're getting high/lows, right?

My friend who is on one of the beemer forums (DDM is a big sponser/seller of BMW stuff) said that the guy went on a huge rant about other companies talking bad about DDM, so every time they did, DDM would just lower their prices. He told me this about 2-3 days before their prices dropped to what they are now. Not sure if that means they are permanent prices or not, though.

As for output pix, I have this one:

I'm sure I have others, but that's the first one I found in my photobucket...

I have been looking at getting some of these. How do the F-150 housings project the HID's? I know that's one of the largest problems with HID's in regular housings is the reflector.

I think I would want the 55w Hi/Low as I love to have plenty of visibility.

I have heard that the 55w is really bright but mainly right in front of you and is not great for distance. I also want to keep the blinding to a minimum so that's why I want the 35w and yes I'm going to get the hi/low kit. With stock housings, from what I've read and seen, HIDs appear bright and scattered compared to a more focused beam from a projector.

Just to give you a heads up. I think their 35W ballasts are on backorder. I'm still waiting for my fogs. They said something about customs holding their shipment, and they didn't know when they would be in. They hoped for sometime next week. Idk though. The guy didn't seem to sure.

When you go to checkout, does it tell you if something is backordered? How long have you been waiting and did you get them at the current prices?

No, I don't believe so. They never sent an email or anything. I ordered mine on Thursday April 1st. On Monday the 5th, I called to check on my order status, I hadn't recieved a tracking number and it still said it was being processed. They told me that they were behind on shipping due to the sale. That's cool. No problem. The guy I spoke to said it would probably ship in a day or so. I got a tracking number on Tuesday the 6th. My package was delievered that Friday, which was the 9th.

When I opened the package, I was missing my 35W 6000k H10 set for my fogs. I only recieved my 35W 6000k Hi/Lo H13 for my heads. I called right after I opened it to see what the deal was.

The person I spoke to didn't seem too knowlegable on the subject. I asked him what happend with my order, gave him my order number. He said he "thinks" the 35W ballasts are on back order. I said, can you confirm this, because I just recieved a 35W ballast. He said, you "probably" got the last one. I think customs is holding our shipment. I said, oh, that's great. Do you know when they will come in? He said, hopefully next week.

I was upset they didn't bother emailing me or calling me to inform me that they wouldn't be sending everything.

BTW. One of my buddies ordered before me. He ordered his stuff in the morning, and I ordered mine later that night. His order number is a hundred in front of mine. He ordered 35W 12000k 9006 and 35W 12000k H10 for his Chevy. He didn't recieved anything. They never sent him a tracking number. After I called on the 9th he finally got an email saying his stuff was on back order. It didn't say what was on back order though. If it is just the ballast, I would think his order should have been processed before mine.

My other friend has a 55W 5000K 9006 kit coming in on monday. His order was placed a couple days after ours.
