2004 F150 FX4 computer plugin not working

took my truck for its yearly inspection sticker here in NH last week, and they have to hook it up to the computer for it to pass the emissions for the inspection, but for some reason the computer wasn't detecting my truck, they even tried a hand held computer, still nothing

they checked every fuse in the fusebox, all was working, they also took my center console apart to look for a loose wire from the cig lighter, all was fine, and the cig lighter works

is there another fuse somewhere that I don't no about ?

anyone have any idea ?

they told me to bring it to a ford dealer, thought I'd ask on here first ?

thank you

That is a first as far as I know. Always before, the cigar lighter did not work as they use the same fuse, and the fuse was blown.

it was my rear that didnt work when mine wouldnt read so op may want to check the rear lighter and that fuse.
try these:Fuse F37 ( if it is the rear power point ) or Fuse F39 if it is the front power point ( to the right of the radio ).

Thats right. This happened to me. I thought my OBD reader was bad. Fuse on the Cig lighter was blown.

Sometimes the pins in the obd11 connector port will push back and forth and not fully seat into the connector plug.

since my buddy gave me a sticker last year I never really dealt with this issue

its inspection time again for me, so dealing with it now

my front cig lighter doesn't seem to be working, but both fuses (37 & 39) are ok, also my rear cig lighter works and the 12v (right of radio) works

I pulled the bezel off last night and moved a bunch of wires around behind the cig lighter hoping to find a loose connection somewhere but couldn't get it to work

I give up, I'm bringing it to my local dealer, hopefully they don't rape me

well there goes 50 bucks, just got the truck back from the dealer, they hooked it up to the computer and everything worked fine, and as far as the cig lighter he said it had a little corrosion in it

thats weird my inspection garage couldn't get it to work
