Question What to do 1st??

Exhaust
Shocks
CAI

which would you guys do 1st ?
after reading this forum for days and days and just as of 2 days ago finally joining and posting a few ?'s.. i pose this question to the masses..
I can spend $300-$400 bucks right now and want to know what would be the best to do 1st?

Stock 07 Lariat Crew 44K miles..
Rides a little rough.. hence the shocks being in the question
Shocks - Bilstein HD - $320ish - not installed
Exhaust - SI/DO Flowmaster / Magniflow with tips - $325.00
CAI - we all know what this cost K&N CAI - $320ish

I will end up doing all and then some..but money is tight and would like to get the most satisfaction early on lol

Leveling kit first.

Don't waste your money on a CAI - look up the Gotts mod.

I vote Magnaflow on the exhaust.

^^^ Gotts mod with k&N will hook you up with an almost CAI and cost ya about $55, then you can go exhaust, and you can find it cheaper. You can prob shop and get it for about $250. So with that you are sitting around $300. Then for an extra $70 you can get the leveling kit, so your still in budget.

Nope, gotts works for all! I did mine on a V6. As for Dallas exhaust, just shop around. The place that did mine was in Deer Park, TX just outside of houston. Not too sure about dallas.

As for the leveling... When you bought your truck, you will naturally sit a$$ high. The back of your truck will be higher than the front. This gives your truck a racked effect. The leveling kit sits on top of the strut and raises the front end level with the back. This is the one I used

However, this producted an optical illusion, at least for me, that the front sat a little higher (the wheel wells are different sizes) so I added a rear shackle lift kithttp://shop.suspensionmax.com/Shop/C...id/0/SFV/32526

I put them both in myself with the help of a friend and some beers. Now it sits about 0.5" higher in the back but looks perfectly level to me

I havent posted pics with the shackles on yet but chekc out my album for the level kit

Yogi, I think you read the sale wrong. I know I did. Its not $45 dollars off plus free shipping and free tune. The gryphon isnt discounted, but you get free shipping and a free tune with the purchase of one. So its like 399 for the gryphon plus 30 for the second tune

It is my belief that the single best mod you can do is a tuner. That is the last one I would give up.

In the index for the Articles and How Tos, there are two threads for the Gott's Mod on your truck.

just F.Y.I
here is what I paid.

CAI AEM. $170ish from a member here.
PHP tuner W/tunes 460
SI/DO knockoff flow master +pipes and tips $200.
AVA P-3100 DVD $300+ kit and harness

A CAI IS completely worth $200 for the slight Hp gain and the way it really claens the engine bay up.

I got mine mostly for looks and i am glad I did.

plus lots of other add ons.

With your budget, your biggest bang for the buck would be...

#1. Gotts Mod... $10.00 in materials, and your time.
#2. K&N Drop In filter. $48.99
#3. Tuner. $100.00 (What I paid for my VMP XCal2, used when a friend traded in...)
#4. HBS or Autospring leveling kit. $80.00 ish...
#5. Alignment (check your local market rate...)

Check out WHY it is riding rough. Could be something as simple as overinflated tires... Don't throw money at it if it won't fix the problem...

Then worry about Exhaust, stick some wheels and tires on it, and just sort of go from there...

Thanks for the great advice guys!!
this DWV mod will be done this weekend, along with a K&N Filter..
A little more info and links on these tuners would be nice, also dont the level kits make them ride rougher?
If this truck took bumps and just your normal bad texas roads any rougher i am afraid the doors would fall off! and we are talking about a 07 Lariat with 43K miles!
Highway it rides sooo good tho...

$200 for 5HP (tops) and some chrome. $40/hp. Buy a used Edge from somebody for $300 and get 25-30 HP. $10/hp.

Not to mention you are probably running lean with that CAI.
