yeah im with you dude. no one understands that we dont have conical air filters. we have a pannel, and people say do the gotts mod, when we cant. all we can do i guess is cut off the silencer crap on the intake tube.

anyone know anything on doing a gotts on a pannel filter truck?

You can do the Gotts mod. Search a little bit for tutorials, I did it to mine.

Yeah you can, the part you are moding is the piece that goes through to the fender. Doesnt matter what is on the other side

^^the gotts mod on the 04+ makes the inlet of the intake larger.. it shrinks alot before entering the fender

I have seen people do this and claim that it helps, but my issue is that it is sucking in hot engine air. Hence the barrier on most CAI

Use the search function on the forums. Search for Gotts mod. There are a mess of write ups on the mod. I think for our trucks it is called the "DWV mod".

Search is your friend...

Nope. Simply eliminates the HUGE restriction where the inlet for the intake goes through the fender. Sort of a poor man's CAI, but unless you point it out to someone, no one will be the wiser until you shove your foot into the throttle...
