Leveling 101...Simple Question

When I buy my truck, I want to level up the front with the back. What size is recommended and what mfg do you guys recommend?

Truck is an 06 STX 4x4.

Thanks.

Autospring all the way www.autospringcorp.com They come in four sizes 1.5" 2" 2.5" and 3". Measure your truck and see how much lift you need to get the amount of level you want and order accordingly.

Measure.

The two most recommended leveling kit manufacturers are Autospring and Hell Bent Steel.

I know the 2" AS raised my truck 2 5/8". You can't go by their numbers.

I have a 06 4x4 screw and went with the 2" AS kit. Leveled it just about perfect.

Then I added 3" blocks to the rear... lol

Do you have to add anything to the rear or can it stay stock? Im really just looking to match the front up with the back...

I have an 07 FX4 with a 2" AS kit. It is perfect. The 2.5" would have been too much for mine. I have nothing added in the back and it is level.

That's why I went with the 1.5". For some reason not everyone's getting the same height out of these leveling kits.
It definitely pays to measure first.

I went down to a 1.5" AS and mine STILL sits higher in the front.

As you can see, for some reason, different trucks respond differently to the the level. I bought the 2 inch autospring and the 3 inch block for the rear and my rear is 1/2 inch higher than the front. I didn't measure mine before, but I definitely got more than 2 inches of lift in the front.

I recommend 1.5 just to kick the front up a bit, or you can just take the block out the rear to level.

I have a 2006 4x4 screw and installed the AS 2" spacer.

It raised my front end 1/2" HIGHER than my rear.

Since I tow my Stang, I went with the Firestone Airbags for the rear.

I did a 2.5" on my 05 and to me it looks either perfectly level or a tad *** high. the rule usually is 04-05's need 2.5" to get level and 06's+ need 2".

I saw on Autospring's website that they recommend an aignment after doing a level. Is that necessary or is it just that you should check to see if you "need" an alignment? The truck will have all brand new wheels and tires.
