Cool Please help, having trouble pulling a steering wheel

Hi,

New to the board, lots of great info out here. I apologize if there is already a thread on this one but I did my best and couldn't find anything.

I have a 2007 FX4, it came with the leather steering wheel but that has since been chewed up...from the previous owner...I treat this truck like a baby. Picked up a new one, bought what I thought was a standard steering wheel pulling tool and there is no way this puppy is going to work on this wheel. Managed to pull the air bag and steering column bolt but can't slide the wheel off the shaft.

Can someone point me to the exact tool I need to pick up? Read something about a 2 jaw puller but didn't see much detail...wasn't sure what to get. Searched on 2 jaw pullers and saw there were 7"...10"...etc. Please if someone out there knows what exact tool I need, can you point me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks a bunch.
Randy

A Warning In Advance.....

The proper wheel puller will put a tremendous amount of force down onto the center of your steering shaft -- make sure you protect it when pulling the wheel so you don't "muck-up" the threads. Don't ask me how I know.....

By the way, the factory steering wheel on my 2005 was on there like a booger -- it took an outrageous amount of force to get it to release from the shaft.....

Now I'm worried...

Hmmm...maybe I should have asked before spending the bucks on the new wheel.

Thanks for the link Neggy. I see it shows a puller with st1321-a in the pic. Searched around and couldn't find a puller with that number.

Ddellwo, do you know exactly what tool you used or where you got it?

Thanks!
