04+ Gear Indicator Adjustment

In my previous post I took the dash apart to get rid of the TPMS light. While I was doing this I was pulling on the instrument cluster and at the bottom of the cluster there is a black cable that I saw. When I put the cluster back in my gear indicator needle had moved and so I remembered reading that for the 96-03 trucks there was an adjuster under the dash to move the needle.

On the 04+ trucks the little black cable goes fron the shifter on the steering column to the needle and on the left side of the column you can see the white clip with the black thumbwheel to adjust it. Just take off the dash panel below the steering wheel and there is a hole to the left of the column. Get a flashlight and you will see the black cable and the adjuster. Stick your fingers in the hole and give it a spin and the needle will move.
