Cruise Control not working

Hey folks,

After installing my new Pioneer HU the brake light stays on and the cruise control won't work. I looked at the fuses and they're fine. I traced the wiring diagram back to the Brake Pedal Position Sensor and I'm thinking that's the culprit. I also have a parking brake bypass installed for the HU but don't think that has anything to do with it. I also checked the brake lights, no issues. If anyone has any input, it is appreciated.

I'd bet you cut the wrong wire to install the parking brake sensor.

Make sure the wire you tapped into is the positive wire coming from the plug that plugs into the top of the actual parking brake pedal, not the regular brake.

Didn't cut anything tapped in to the Green\Red Stripe wire on the parking brake sensor. According to 12volt.com, that is the positive side. My HU pops into camera mode so I know I got it right.

If the brake light stays on, the cruise is not going to work, it thinks the brake is depressed. Whatever you did, you did something incorrectly.

what did you tap into on the parking brake?

you did the bypass right? so you shouldn't have anything touching the parking brake.

and what did you use to trigger the reverse camera mode?

I would suggest you remove all the wires you connected down there and see if you get the cruise control back. then re-evaluate your connections and see what was messed up
