What are you guys running for winter tires?

Looking at getting a set of mags and nittos for the summer but with Canadian winters the salt would eat the wheels in no time so i'm lookin at gettin a set of winters for the stock wheels. Lookin at the bridgestone Blizzak and Michelin Xice. Any reccomendations? Thanks!

Are you allowed to run studs there? If so, they make a huge difference on ice.

I didn't know they used salt on the roads in BC. Either of those tires will work for you. Just remember to store them properly during the months you are not using them. Here in Oregon they don't use salt during the winter months. Since I live high up in the Cascades I.m able to run my Toyo Open Country M/Ts through out the year. They handle very well in rain, snow, ice, and even black ice does not cause undo concern.

I run my 12.5" wide Toyo's year long. Handle well.

Blizzaks all the way. I don't have or need snow tires for my truck but I have Blizzaks on my Nissan Maxima and they are awesome. I live 800ft off the road, it is uphill to the road and my driveway is gravel. We always end up with like 2 inch thick ice on that hill at times and until the Blizzaks, the car would not make it out. Now there is no problem going out and I can actually stop on the ice going down also.

My winter tires are the same ones I run in the summer -- one of the (few) advantages of living in Houston, TX.......

This winter I ran a set of four General Grabber AT2 tires with 800 lbs of sand in the bed... never had a problem. I was pulling up hills that people in 4x4 trucks were getting stuck on.

I had these: Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 installed last fall. They performed perfectly all winter and ever once had a traction problem. I was able to push and pull stuck vehicles in 6-8" of snow without any issues at all. Also pulled a trailer and ATV weighing ~1300 lbs through 6"+ of snow and never had a problem on extremely hilly roads. They seem to be a really popular tire in my area as I see them on many trucks including many plow trucks.

heres mine and my buddy's winter beaters, both with Firestone winterforce on em, Same as blizzaks but alot cheaper. My cars like a rally car in the snow, and yes the trucks 2wd with no weight in back.
