Spal Deluxe Kit Installed

I installed my Spal kit. I read all the complaints about loud mechanisms and sluggish motors but this has not been my experience. I purchased the Spal Deluxe motors and regulators. Mines seem to be plenty quiet, they make less noise than my wife's car and roll up/down about the same speed. Granted I am sure they are a lot slower than the factory F150 windows but for the most part I am happy. It took me about 5 hours to do the entire job. Now I have power windows!

I didnt even know Spal made something like this. With summer coming you will enjoy this add on for sure. I like the switch locations and they dont look tacky at all.

nice! good job on the install! i had the same kit on my 01 ranger....just be sure that transmission piece that goes between the motor and window regulator crank is tight and at a good angle! i had mine go out on the driver side and my window got stuck....if it ever does break, the dang thing is 40 bucks on its own!

but clean install on the switches...makes it easier than running more wiring into the doors!

Great job! I put the same kit in my truck....not as great results though. I tried to modify my door panels with the switches..they didn't fit..My motors are a little slower than yours.

Good job and looks good on the switches! Just curious though if you had manual windows before what did you do with the roll up handles? Do they go round and round with with window?

For the sake of offering suggestions....

I installed aftermarket power windows in my XL, but the weren't Spal. While I was extremely pleased to have PW, the motors were slow and it eventually got were I wanted something faster. I ordered the OEM regulators and motors at the cost of about $100.00 each. I installed them using the universal switches and wiring I had already run. Once the manual units came out of the doors, I was able to mount the switch pods over the holes left behind. I think its looks pretty clean.

Thanks guys, actually you remove the old handles, the kit comes with some caps to cover the holes. It looks pretty good. I will snap a few pics next time I get a chance.

Looks good man! Still one of the best mods I've done to my truck. I used Electra-Life power window kits from www.A1electric.com. These kits are direct replacements and are super fast.

Do you still have the video? It says it is unavailable when I click on it. I bought an 06 STX that have Spal units that have quit working. I can’t find any decent videos of an install on a Ford truck. I think the gear has stripped on my drivers side and none of the videos I find show the gear install.

Understood as I saw how old it was. But he may still be a member and he may still have the video somewhere other than YouTube.
