Tint and U/V protection

I had my front window's tinted with ceramic tint about a year ago and left the rears alone, since they had factory tint. I'm having my wife's car tinted tomorrow and found out the factory tint has little or no U/V protection. Any had the rears tinted to cut down on U/V? Is there a lighter tint that can be used for that. I really don't care to have my rear windows that dark.

From what I understand, you can get a clear tint for just UV protection. You might call a tint shop for more info though.

just get 50 percent on the back. it wont be that dark. my friend put 5 over his stock tinted glass and you could still see through it. 50 percent isnt that dark

ditto...just do 50% over the backs...will darken it up a littel but not significantly...I have 15% over the back on mine...its dark lol

I ended up doing 45%. The sun was out today and it seems to do a good job with heat. But then it's not hot yet.
