That's a common thing on the 5.4's, I checked mine already and that is as dry as it gets.

Can’t find oil leak?

Hey guys I can’t seem to track down this leak on the back of my motor 2003 F150 5.4 it’s leaking and the passenger side by the head It doesn’t seem to be coming from the valve cover but down by the bell housing it seems to be getting a lot more wet but not inside by the rear main seal. i’m just kind of at a standstill on whether or not to take the head off since I’m not professional mechanic (More of a jackknife mechanic LOL) I will include some pictures see if I can get some answers from you guys

It may be leaking from the head gasket. Oil is fed to the valve train through the block and the oil passage is close to the edge of the block. It's somewhat common to get a leak there. I read in another thread that one owner re-torqued the head bolts and that stopped the leak. Might be worth a try if that is where the leak is coming from.

Same problem

Has anyone gotten the rear seal fixed? It looks like the trans will need to be dropped (not a diy). Trying to figure out how much this will cost me or if I should just top her off every month.

Has anyone changed this out on there own?

Any advice or help will be greatly appriciated, thanks.
I'm experiencing a similar leak on my 2001 F150.

04 F-150 Rear main seal leak

I just recently had my rear main seal replaced on a brand new crate motor with 10,000 miles and it’s still leaking around the bell housing and oil pan.....any ideas of where oil is coming from?
