Ford 'Gold' Remote Starter

I picked up a used 2005 Lariat Crew this week, and it came with a remote starter installed, though none of the FOB's were included.

I crawled under the dash this afternoon, and it appears to be a Gold Series alarm installed by Ford and manufactured by Code Alarm.

These seem to be pretty common in our trucks, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these units, and knew how I might go about programming a new remote to work with it. I know the RKE remotes can be programmed somewhat easily, but wasn't sure about these.

Thanks in advance!

Brian

Try going to the Audiovox web site. They are the makers of the Code Alarm and I have seen owners manuals, FOB's, etc..

If you have the serial number/model number off you unit, this may help also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that tip. They had no documentation for the CA-610, but they had some for the CA-611, which I assume may be similar. Unfortunately they did not mention anything about how to program a new fob.

After some more searching I was able to track down an installation manual on the following site: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=735

Registration might be necessary, but the manual includes wiring and programming information for all compatible Ford vehicles.

I then was able to pick up a replacement FOB on ebay for $20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=380175969993

For future reference, the model number of the FOB is GOH FRDPC2002

Good work on getting the FOB. Good price.

Forgot to mention last night on programming the FOB, if you go to the Technical Articles directory and do a search for either "FOB" or "PATS Thread" you can find a how-to on programming keys and FOB's. It's pretty straight forward and I've used it a couple of times.
