Matte Black Vinyl Wrap ?
Yea, I would imagine a wrap would easily collect dirt in between the paint and the vinyl and slowly peel back...
I really want to my white crew to be flat white... Wonder how messed up it would look if I didn't have the door jams and under hood (unseen spots) left gloss? Think it would save me on the long run?
Also isn't matte and flat basically the same thing?

Flat has zero shine to the finish.
Matte is the same as a semi-gloss.
I've seen 1 or 2 people on here, and from what I can remember they've both been Matte black. Rarely I have I seen a complete flat (and when I do it's usually a 16year old pizza driver with a Civic and a gift card from Home Depot...

)I am out on vinyl if my truck was an asphalt queen I would hesitate but I use my truck and don't want a reason to not go off road... I'm thinking it wouldn't require a tear down to paint matte white on the outside only and wouldn't be too hard on my wallet or difficult to take back to factory... Cause custom paint hurts trade-in or selling unless you find the right buyer...
I agree in that 2 years would just not be long enough. Why does the gloss last longer? I have heard from folks who had it that it actually works as a great paint protector. Good luck Ray and keep us posted.
I wouldn't do a wrap though I would get it all painted. I saw a pair of oakley sun glasses that were the color I would want my truck to look like. I would leave the saleen grille, vents, and rear tail gate cover black and then do the rest in the gun metal grey color. I think it would look sick and I have never seen it done before. Then when I re-do my seats and interior I will have a nice contrasting color to work with. I'm just worried about how the paint will hold up with no clear and how hard it is going to be to keep her clean.
This is the exact color that I want! Tell me what yall think

I talked to a well know place here in FL about wrapping my truck in FLAT BLACK then doing GLOSS BLACK tire tracks over the hood.
Well the guy that I talked to said that FLAT WRAP is more for show vehicles and that on my truck thats offroaded and NOT garage kept it would only last 1 year to 2 years MAX.
The gloss would last 5 years and had a warranty for 4 years.
Might want to do alittle snooping before committing

I'm down in Miami and am interested in the satin black look.
