door ajar sensor

door ajar sensor

where is it? is it the little arm that is in the door jam? my door ajar light keeps coming on randomly.....really annoying

nope, my truck now always thinks my passenger side door is closed, even when open...

If I recall, the sensor is located in the latch assembly. Ford vehicles have had problems with these for years, however the good news is that the solution is quick and cheap - just take some WD40 and spray it in the latch, then slam the door a couple of times. All should be good.

Yup, same thing happened on my '99 f150 just lube your door catch

yes its part of the latch. lube it up and open/close it a couple times

i have sprayed a ton of wd40 in there and slammed the door a million times and still no worky, i think mine is actually bad

You may not have a bad door switch. You may have a broken wire going to the security module causing the door adjar light to come on. Very common on these trucks.

Pulling this back up, Which module are you reffering to? is that the one on the back wall? or under the console? and where is the break usually at?

Yes the security module in the BCM located behind the back of the rear seat.
