Painting Bumpers?

I noticed today after washing my truck that my bumpers are stating to get really pitted from all the salt on the roads. I was thinking about taking them off, sanding them and painting them with bed liner. Anyone ever done this? Would it work. Truck is an 04 XLT. Thanks!

It probably wouldn't look good.

Edit: Here is what I would do. Throw out the old bumper and replace it with an OEM bumper with the round fog holes. You won't have to mess with the paint, and you'll have the updated look of the 06-08 trucks.

Yes sir it would. I had mine lined at a dealer and if you have painted bumpers it won't be really expensive either

You could Linex the bottom half of your truck to match your paint. Or even do two tone color. I've seen it on a couple trucks and it looks pretty sweet.
