Ok here goes!

2007 Ford F150 FX2 5.4L Flex Fuel

72,000 miles on her

Changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter roughly 4,000 miles ago - my truck is on 5k intervals and I replace the fuel filter every 10k

Original spark plugs....

I have a BruteForce CAI (oil-less), magnaflow sido lightning style, power hungry performance custom tuned gryphon running 93 octane performance.

Yesterday when I left work my truck would drive fine untill I approached 35 mph or 2k and then severly knock. Then about 10 minutes later I was up to 50 mph without problem as long as I stayed around 2k. Finally when I was almost home my truck was almost 100% normal except for the top end before it would shift. Today it started up like a champ but under heavy acceleration there would be 1 or 2 detonations before upshifting. I have tried running it without the tune and it acted the same so I don't think the tuner is the culprit.

I plan on cleaning the maf, throttle body, and maybe changing my fuel filter to see if that helps. My buddy who is a diesel mechanic said it could also possibly be a fuel pump going bad. Hope that all helps!! Thanks!!

EDIT: Also, it has not thrown a single CEL, and the gryphon detects nothing abnormal either...

Your first step should be to program your truck back to stock. If that fixes it, contact Bill and get your tunes adjusted because something's funny. If that doesn't fix it, you have at least ruled out the Gryphon.

Is it a real knock or more like a misfire or sputter? If it's misfire or sputter I would check your spark plugs and ignition coils. My truck is doing the same thing and I'm changing the plugs today.

Yes it is more along the lines of a sputter than a misfire... I just didn't know what words to use to describe it lol
