Absolutely lousy new paint color options :(
Absolutely lousy new paint color options :(
Of course I wouldn't buy an 09-10 F150 anyway, as I think they are hideous.
But I was just looking at the 2010 paint color options, and they are even worse than in 09' ! They dropped Stone Green (the freshest, most different truck-looking color Ford has had in quite a while... although Dark Stone was pretty nice too) and they dropped that bright gold color too. Not exactly what I'd have on a truck... but hey, at least it was different, and somewhat eye-catching.
I have to say though, even the 2010 GMC's (best looking new 1/2 tons on the market IMPO) have absolutely boring paint options too.
Don't manufacturers know that some people like "fresh, new paint colors" and are not trying to blend in, and disappear into the other 10 million trucks on the road ???
How about some Satin paint ? I think whenever mine needs new paint, I'm going to go with Satin Sage Green. I saw this on an F250 {about 100 miles from my home... which is a good thing
} and it looked sick ! It was blacked out too, which was a perfect match.
It would just be a shame to buy a brand new truck, and then have to pay several thousand dollars to get a paint job worth looking at.
Hmmmm,
Fish
PS, I guess the new Harley Davidson edition is available in some kind of deep burgundy color, with tri-colored flake. I haven't seen it in person, but it sounds pretty nice. Still, I would not have paid $20K extra just for that paint color (and most of the other HD upgrades wouldn't suit me anyway).

But you've got to remember you're in the minority in the way of your thinking compared to the millions of truck owners. We as a truck community are always wanting to stand out, but your average pickup driver could care less.
Gold on any car is hideous. End of story. I would be fine if they dropped the gold/beige/champagne color from all autos regardless of make or model. Nobody does fireengine red anymore either. My mother had a 99 Grand Prix GTP that was fire-engine red and despite it being a FWD grocery-getter, it looked pretty sporty and stood out.
In all honesty for Ford though, I wish I had all the color options for any trim level. I love the KR's interior, but don't like the 2- or 3- color options available, and don't need tu-tone paint either. If I want blue paint with red trim, I should be able to order it, not have to get a custom paint job. The paint job quality is sketchy at best anyway with most of the big 3, orange peel everywhere.

Hey guys...
Brandon, you said
Ha !
Actually, it would probably be even more accurate to say, I was in the minority compared to the human population in general
{I'm not really one of them... I'm just stuck on the same planet
}
I kind of like that crazy, bright, yellowy, candy gold on certain sport vehicles. Looks great on a blacked out vehicle too. And I like candy Tangerine. Probably my favorite all time color is that super bright Lime green. My buddies say I like African American car colors
LOL .... Uhhh... Okay. That's probably true.
But it depends on the vehicle. Like I say, I eventually want Satin Sage Green on my truck, which is anything but flashy. Definitely different, and to me, very truck-like. On the other hand, if mine were the lowered street truck look, it would have to be lime green, and completely blacked out.
I guess I shouldn't complain about all the boring paint options, as whenever I get aftermarket paint, it will be really easy to make it stand out.
Peace,
Fish

Paint is pretty cheap, so you would think it would be fairly easy to offer more choices. I suppose if they offered too many people wouldn't be able to make up their mind or would be more reluctant to buy one off the lot.
Then red is for BOYS under 20. "look at me and my bright red truck"! lol
Yes I have a BEIGE F150 and like it a lot. To me it says "sharp". "PawPaw" and "Fx4 Matt" have two of the cleanest on here...

wonder what you think about mine then.
I wish I was still under 20, that did apply when I bought the truck!
I can't say that I'm too enamored with some of the new paint colors Ford has come out with lately -- I prefer more classic colors, and in my opinion, most of the colors out today will scream out, "I bought my truck in the early teens!" in just a few short years......
Of course, I also own a "Grabber Orange" Mustang, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about......
