Those in Ontario

I will be taking a business trip next week from my home in Ohio to Newmarket Ontario, crossing over into Canada near Buffalo NY. I will be driving my Roush SC equipped F150 which of course requires 93 octane fuel. What I don't know is if 93 octane is readily availabe in Ontario. Can any of you that live in that area please advise me on this issue. If its not I will have to make certain that I fill up on the Buffalo side before crossing over. Any help will be appreciated.

Hiya Marc!

Yer in luck - Sunoco 94 is everywhere !!!

About ~$1.20/litre - currently trending down...

Also - Shell 93, is also common. Stay away from PetroCanada or Esso/Exxon, unless you absolutely need fuel. Lots of independents - all crap.

10% Ethanol in everything as well.

Have a safe trip! Toronto traffic is.... amazing

Oh - beer is ~$40 a case of 2-fer for the good stuff, lol.

Thanks for the response MGD. Actually I was using Sunoco 94 here before they all stopped offering and dropped to 93. Think I will come over on the low side so I can fill her up with the good stuff again. Hopefully I will not get into too much of the Toronto madhouse unless its bad around lunch time. Routing myself up the QEW, 427, 401, then taking 400N. Sound about right?

LOL

Actually, there is an easier, less stressful route now. The 407. Get on at the QEW/403 interchange in Burlington Ontario, as it wrap around the west end of Lake Ontario It cuts diagonally right up to the 400, bypassing the 401 & 427 entirely. It's a toll road, not as heavily traveled because of it. Try Google mapping it.

Gotta tip my hat to you MGDfan. Going to Newmarket I did the 427,401,400 thing and ended up in the mess around Toronto. Coming home I took 404 to the 407 to the QEW to Buffalo. Much easier returning that way..looks like I will be making that trip several times in the next few months.
Filled up with Sunoco Ultra 94 prior to my departure for home and the truck ran like a champ. Even got a nod from the OPP who didn't seem to mind that I was running around 130kmh on the 407. Managed to spank a Dodge who didn't believe the ROUSHED liscense plate..came up on me on the 407 and started pacing me for several miles, had a brand new F150 Supercrew in the lane next to me when he appeared and he was giving me that "awh go get him" look, so not only did the business end of the trip go well, I also got in a little entertainment . THANKS FOR THE INFO.......

Thanks Marc!

GLad you made it here & back safely.

Yes - I'm still wating on that free Rousch S/C to arrive,

Just a quick point - as of this week Ontario has begun strict enforcement of it's cell-phone /handheld ban while in motion. Hands-free devices are okay ( for now). Wouldn't want you to get a ticket, now

Take care.
