3000k vs 6000k

Ive got 6000k 55w HIDs in my heads, fogs, and KC daylighters right now. However, I am thinking of changing the KC's to 3000k. Is there really that much of a difference between the 3000k, and 6000k? Does anyone have any actual experience with them. I know they will look a lot different, but will the light output be noticeable and worth it. I have the spot beam daylighters.

I doubt you will notice much difference unless you drive in Fog a lot. 4300K is considered the best/most visible light/color temperature for the human eye since it is closest to the color temp of the sun. 3K isn't much closer to 4300 than 6K is. I wouldn't waste the money unless you want to go with 4300K bulbs.

yeah the the 3000k or extremely yellow, they are mainly used for fog lights because you can cut through the fog better and get better light output. I love my 6000k 55w Heads, you can also get 4300k which is the best/most output for a pure white color

This is from what I've learned on here, I do have personal experience with the yellow fogs though, they put out a ton of low light for fogs, I just don't like the look personally. just .02

Yeah im gonna stick with my 55w 6000k's in my heads/fogs. I was just wondering if the 3000k would do better for my long range KC's.

I wouldn't think the 3000k would work well for long range personally, I think it would be spread out too much

Well I had to buy a new set of HID's anyway since my fleamarket test set that I used for the retrofit in my KC's ballast went bad. So I bought a 55w 3000k H3 from DDMtuning. That way I will have 2 sets of bulbs that I can use, 6000k and 3000k. That way i can try it and see how it works.

Well I finally got my lights in. The bulbs look crazy. They defiantly have a yellow hue to them. If it ever stops raining ill put them in and get some pics up.

55w is a pinch brighter/whiter than 35w, draws 55 watts, as 35 draws 35 watts.
