precisely my point. and depending on how the ethylene is cured/shaped (my guess is vacuum formed)...there is very little to the process in terms of extra materials and/or labor

all the $$$ to the process is in the initial setup. that gets paid for and then it's pretty much just maintenance $$$ afterwards.

anybody curious about these processes should check out the show "How It's Made". Many similar products have been featured there. Pretty interesting

oh well, like you said. People will pay for it.

[1] Their reply to your group buy offer: Rude and arrogant
[2] Buy at retail price: Hell no, not $200 bucks for a storage compartment. I can find $200 to spend on something more valuable.
[3] Your suggest group buy: A little to low. Maybe around $125-$140 would be best.

Having given their reply, IF and that's a big IF I was in the market for such a storage device I defiantly wouldn't buy from them with their kind of attitude.

Did anything ever come of the 'group buy' from Du-HaHa? They are up to $199, shipped.
I'm seriously thinking of buying one even at that price. I just ran out to my money tree to get some cash to pay my ex and picked a couple of extra $100 bills.
Anyone know if they'll fit with the WeaterTech 'DigitalFit' floor liners? Any compatibility issues?

These storage units are available at Sam's club for $179.99. Just an alternative point of purchase that doesn't charge for shipping them to your local Sam's for pickup.

Has anyone used these with a seat lift kit? I'm thinking about getting a 2'' or 3'' lift kit for the rear seat and would like to use the DU-HA unit as well. Any Pros / Cons to the seat lift?

Your going to have a 2" or 3" inch gap if you use a DU-HA

I too, am a small business owner. If someone emailed me, I would respond on a more cordial note than they did. That is fine that they cannot, or will not, sell it for the $100 price point. I can understand that. But please, let's save the condescending overtones for another time, not towards potential customers.

Harley Davidson was once a small family owned business and the letter the OP received sounds like the MoFuCo's attitude these days.
That only applies to their customer's. If you're a share holder, you're golden.

Anyhoo.....I guess there ain't gonna be a group buy...........Alrighty then.....

Thanx for posting up the links to the cheaper ones ya'll,
The High-ster

I agree that they were probably put off by the 50%, and maybe just caught them on a bad day. They're human and have good and bad days just like the rest of us.

But as far as the boxes go, there's no way I would spend even $150 on a plastic box. Not even if it was custom fitted to MY truck not just to f150's. I just can't get past their price point. I can build one stronger out of wood for a quarter of that price. Even if I couldn't you can get a giant in bed unit for thier price with multiple pieces, weather stripping, locks, AND made of steel or alluminum.

I might look again at thier prices if it was made of metal.

.

Just FYI - I did end up having a very nice discussion with the owner and while we did not make any progress toward a group buy, he did apologize for the 'tone' of his initial response to my query. In short, he felt he could not support a group buy at a lower price as it would be unfair to his distributors. They're a small company trying to crack a big market. Best price I've seen, as others have noted, is $179 at Cabellas and elsewhere.
