Whatever the differences may or may not be, they are both the improved plugs with the slightly smaller barrel and the extra cutaway at the tip. It looks like the SP-507 is being discontinued and being replaced by the SP-515.

I agree with you Takeda, all I was doing was to point out the 'advertised' differences in the plugs, that's all. We kind of got off topic here, but to answer the op question, the 507 and the 515 are the new replacements for the original plugs that came in the earlier 3v's, I don't know when the factory made the change. The original ones that came out of my 07 was the old type with the extended shield which was changed with the new design. An off topic question for you if you wouldn't mind....what kind of camera do you use to get those spectacular photos? PM Me if you want to. Thanks

The closeups photos were taken with a Nikon D300, and a 105mm f/2.8 VR lens. The other photos were taken with a Nikon D3S, and a 24-70mm f/2.8
lens.
