The nerf bars came out really good.. I finished the golf club experiment with the adhesion promoter, the side without the adhesion promoter was more difficult to peel of, Unfortunately both sides were fairly easy to peel off. I do admit i had to rub pretty hard with my finger to get it to release its adhesion to the golf club but once it broke free then it created a bubble under it and was super easy to get the rest off. IMO the Plasti dip is a temporary fix for cheap wheels, i would not do this to wheels that you intend on keeping for a while. I guarantee that you will experience some sort of peeling within a matter of time.

I really wish that it held up better because plastidip has a perfect Matte finish, it's super smooth and is exactly the look that i want on my wheels but I'm not going to paint them with the risk of having to repaint them every few months.

The wheels are holding up great so far. Im kinda worried about when I have to get my weights changed on my wheels but I don't believe it will be hard to just lay down a few more coats to fix the blank spots left by the previous placement of the weights. Ill try to get some pics asap

sounds good guys... This spring I may still try this on my wheels. Even tho it is a temporary fix, I think it will look better than my scuffed up chrome winter rims.

Blackout.. let me know how well they hold up to your nerf bars...

It's been 1 week since I painted the nerf bars and did the experiment with the golf club. I must say, after 1 week of curing the Plastidip on the golf club is very difficult to peel off. Also, to my surprise the nerf bars are looking very good and the Plastidip is not coming off at all even when i try to peel it. After all i may attempt to paint the Pathfinder's wheels with Plasticoat and worst case scenario I will have to re do them. I plan on scuffing the wheels up to make the Plastdip adhere better, I will keep you guys updated

Here's a thought. With wheels, why not scuff them and use the same steps as Mblouir described in his thorough wheel painting how to? Like the etching primer and such to make a good base. I wonder how that would work?

Hmmm... that sounds like a good idea. I will try that with my golf club experiment tomorrow.

I also started reading allot of good reviews about VHT wheel paint, they are the company that makes NiteShades. It's a polyurethane based wheel paint and is supposed to be allot better than Duplicolor wheel paint.

This stuff is amazing. I had been thinking about powdercoating my mustangs wheels but figured this would be the best thing to do, cause it can be easily removed. I bought six cans from Home Depot for $4.92 a can and done my wheels in a couple hours. Keep it on for a few days and didn't like the all black wheels and it only took about ten minutes to remove. All you gotta do is use a knife to cut a piece loose and peel it off. I know people that have had it on their wheels for close to a year now and its still holding great.
