But what about Line-X'd wheels????

That stuff holds up GREAT and would give the same kind of look.

You can even get colors....

After the game, the King and the Pawn go into the same box.
You can get plastidip in different colors too

My only concern is how it holds up to brake dust.

It was in the spray paint/rattle can isle but was very difficult to find. It was on the bottom shelf and kind of hidden but the definitely carry the product.

I'm going to do this tomorrow, how many coats did you apply?

Edit: I think I will do some more research on the way this stuff holds up, I did a Google search for Plastidip on wheels and there were a few threads where bug remover spay made the plastidip bubble up and peel.. I definitely dont want this to happen..

Yeah that would be sick and I did a carwash the day after I painted my wheels and they were fine. Just clean the wheels really good..I just used some basic cleaning products such as simple green and some other things. You might want to scuff your wheels up a little bit with some sandpaper since yours are chrome and mine were alloy. I did about 5 to 6 coats. It starts looking really good at about the 3rd coat.

It's so difficult not to just paint them with Plastidip because they look so good but I want a permanent paint and dont want the stuff to peel in a few months, I did some research and allot of the BMW and VW forums are using this product as a temporary way to black out their wheels and can be peeled off in the future. I also found allot of good reviews on this product
"Wurth Matt Black European Spray Lacquer"
but it's made in Germany and I would have to order it... I think I will do the nerf bars on my F150 with the Plastidip and see how that holds up before I do the Pathfinders wheels

Yeah, I got the idea from the bmw and vw forums. It looked so sick on their wheels so I had to try it but I agree..you should do it on your nerf bars..see how you like it and then do your wheels if you like the outcome. If you decide to do your wheels and have any questions..just ask

Id be worried that it maybe be too thick for the wheel weights to stick to the wheels and throw off the balance???

Painting the nerf bars as we speak and also in the process of painting a golf club to see how well it adheres to polished/chrome metal. I used adhesion promoter on half of the club and then applied the plasti dip and the other half i just applied the plasti dip, we will see which half sticks better.

I was thinking, I wonder if you seal the plasti dip with a matte clear coat, I think that would seal it.. right?? I just dont know if anyone makes a matte clear??
EDIT* the plasti dip is flexible and i dont think the clear will work over the top

Yeah I dont think I have ever heard of matte clear coat haha but if you just add a couple coats of clear I dont think it will get rid of the matte affect from the plastidip
