It would depend on what it is costing him to make them materials and man hours it takes to make it and we all want to see the guy make a profit but it will have to be fair and reasonable especially for the times we are in but if he can make me one that has FX2 on it just like the one on my truck and his price is fair I'll have no problem doing business with him and telling everyone I know who has an F150 where I got it

Thanks for the feedback thus far guys

It will definitley depend on two factors:

a) design complexity - the lettering (I think) is pretty basic, but he can do tribal designs and flames (which he has done for motorcycle seats)

b) choice of material

I will be talking to him tomorrow and let you know the outcome.

I would be interested at a reasonable price, $40-50.

I thought my ears where ringing for a reason

My wife runs an embriodery buisness and we do headrests for local shops including shops like Mallet http://www.mallettcars.com/ As well as a bunch of bike clubs and car clubs where we do run patches, seats, headrests, floormats etc....
After I did the headrests on MY truck and posting them I got very positive replies and have had members here send us their headrests for custom embroidery.BUT the actual making of the headrest or in this case the console lid cover we dont do.We have a shop that will do it..but due to time and other job commitments we stick to what we do best which is embroidery.Although I do vinyl and leather work on MY toys I'v done very few for customers due to working a full time job with the USPS.
Lori has been doing embroidery for 13 years and teaches embroidery she use to work for an interior shop years ago which is where we get things actually made.
What most do is get a set of covers off line thru places like JC whitney or e-bay and send them to us to make them look like the expensive stuff with custom logos and embroidery.
You can see her work at http://www.lorileedesigns.com/ I have a little link to my site in the right corner.

I talked to my friend today regarding the console covers.

Based on the effort involved something identical to the one he made me (see original post) would probably be in the $70-80 range (not including shipping).

Again different designs and materials may alter the price.

To expedite them we were thinking of having a core charge in the initial payment . He would build one for you from existing stock and ship to you. Once you have removed your old (undamaged cover) and ship it back the core charge will be refunded.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Could I just take my headrests and center console cover off and get it embroidered? I have leather btw. I may do it since there are a few shops here local that might do this. Just hope they can get it centered and not look generic.

So does that 70-80 include the "core charge" which would be refunded? Or are we talking about dropping $100 and getting some refunded? 70-80 is a little on the high side IMO.

The 70-80 does not include the core charge.

Of course if you don't want to go the core route you can ship your console lid first.

Remember, we are talking about recovering the entire cover - the padding is actually better than the original rubber on the FX4.

For those with the leather console maybe instead of a new cover the existing is reworked, but I am not sure.

FX4 headrest logo...

Hello. I am new to this forum. I just picked up an '06 FX4 and I have the embroidered FX4 offroad logo on the headrest. Apparently when the guy from whom I purchased it detailed the inside, the passenger logo is MIA! I saw this thread and wondered who I could talk to about getting new logos. The current one is not stitched in. It must be some sort of patch generated by heat to adhere. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!
