Agree with FX4life for the most part. What I'd do..

Leave door handles as is
PTM mirror caps
PTM bumpers
Tint the tails and 3rd brake light
Black upper and lower grilles
Paint the badges black and get white inserts
Paint exhaust tips black
Get a black overlay for the rear ford emblem

I think PTM bumpers and black heads would look good. PTM the handles and caps too. I'm not sure anyone really cares about what your truck looks like as much as they do about getting more pics of your girl! lol

Thirdly, I agree with the changes you want to make, but are you going to run a PTM stripe along the side too?
I'm over in Volusia County; Daytona Beach. It's weird how people can drive on the beach here but I can't take my puppy on the beach? They say it's because of the conservation something or other and turtle nesting. I haven't seen a single turtle since I've been here a year and a half!

Great looking truck by the way
Thanks Wolf.

Here is what I think for your truck:
PTM door handles
PTM mirror caps (hit me up I have a how-to on this mod, super easy!)
PTM bumpers
Tint the tails and 3rd brake light
Black upper and lower billet grilles (can probably paint the current ones)
Paint the badges black and get white inserts
Paint exhaust tips black
Get a black overlay for the rear ford emblem
Thanks for the welcoming. Unfortunately this appears to be an expensive club.

I'm with everything on your list except for the mirror caps and handles. As it pertains to those, I'm not entirely convinced. I simply can't picture it.

Any ideas on painting the grill I've got now?

I like the way you think.

i agree with this 100%.. but paint the head light black too

I love the look of an all white PTM with black mods (StormTrooped) I was thinking about getting rid of my truck so i could buy a white one and do that!

lonestar, can you do another one the same but add painted handles and tinted tails? Maybe blacked out badges and white inserts if possible.

I always thought a pinstripe in the body crease would be kinda cool like the 97-03's had. Maybe a black one to break up the white? Who knows..

As for painting the grille I would think a good metal aluminum paint and some good prep work would do just fine, certainly cheaper then a new grille especially if you like the billet

blackout, I can't believe I forgot to mention the heads in my list... Doh! I think the round fogs pair well with the reflector portion of the headlight assembly when they are painted black. Both being chrome and all, then tint the tails and leave the reverse portion clear and wa la a good mix of balcl-white-chrome just like a stormtrooper

Hey thanks for that. It really gives me an idea on the white mirror caps. Got me thinking more about it now..

I too love the StormTrooped look. Like I mentioned previous, only think holding me back has been my chrome bumpers. Now that I'm getting tired of this look, I think it's finally time to spend a little more and change it up again.

Cheers to having like taste!

I'm going to look more into how to paint my grille as my uppers and lowers already match and I like the looks of them.

Tinted tails have always been at the back of my mind but I've held off due to the chrome bumpers. Changing them to ptm would for sure open me up to adding more black.

Oh the possibilities and decisions, decisions. I really should not have made this thread.

IMO you will be amazed with how great the PTM handles will flow with the rest of the truck, I would suggest you do that as one of your first PTM projects as it's not very expensive. $150 for 3 handles from TascaFord and about $100 to paint them white. 2nd i would paint the headlights and tint the tails as that is very inexpensive and will make a huge impact on the way your truck looks

after looking at your photo again, i dont think you should PTM the mirror caps, it looks out of place with white caps on black mirrors.. But thats just my opinion.

Alright so StrikeSwiftly over at screen-fx.net (and on here) was kind enough to do a chop for me. Here's another idea of what some of it would look like.

I know you've got some taste which is why I'm going to keep thinking about the PTM handles. About the caps, maybe I'll just do one and if it looks bad, I'll just take pictures from then on of only the good lookin' side. lol

For the time being, and after seeing a couple chops, I think I will go ahead and start with painting my heads, tinting my tails/3rd and looking into doing the grille.
