so my wife came home from work and brought me the NEW list of codes(after the shop said they removed the starter) here it goes...
PATS key transponder signal not recieved(would this be the cause of everything)
TP sensor a ckt range performance
TAC sys-forced idle
throttle actuator system stuck open
throttle actuator system stuck closed
OBDII check incomplete
undocumented
now these are the new list of codes
and today and last night i went to lock the doors manually by hitting the lock button before shutting the door and the locks didnt lock but it made the noise(really weird)
and before the locks would auto lock so when my wife just got it done she went and got gas and the doors auto locked and she locked the keys in the car.(weird)
im so clueless

Dude, pull the alarm totally out of the truck and put all the wiring back to original. Then clear all the codes and see what happens.

If the truck runs normally, either the alarm was installed wrong or its bad. They are not hard to install at all. I've done 3 on these trucks already and everyone has worked flawless since day one.

**** I would use a chipped key first before you ripped the alarm out. Just to make sure.

Good luck,

Oh, I didn't read where you had it installed. I thought you did it yourself.
In that case, I would take the truck to the installer and tell them to call you when EVERYTHING is fixed!!

You need to get it out of the truck now. I realize you didn't install it, but read the install manual and run the maze backwards. Who ever installed it DIDNT INSTALL IT CORRECTLY. They obviously tapped the wrong lines...sounds like maybe the throttle position sensor and god knows what else. Once you get under the dash you'll see whats been spliced into.

Its not your truck, its the install. I've done this on several Fords and it ain't easy and can be easily royally messed up due to the fact that ford will sometime use the same color wires in the same harness locations (albeit a different gauge).

I doubt there is any lasting damage...yet. But every time the truck dies your inviting the opportunity for damage.

Go back and tell them to take it out. They screwed it up. They pay for it.

yeah he said that they took the brain box out and it shouldnt be acting up like that. i told him i need this fixed and i want to take the whole thing out, then he tryed telling me if i want i can cut the TAC wire, i told him no no no dont cut anything, just take it out and well go from there. hes basically telling me that hes never had problems with f150s.

this guy is such a stroke, so hes gonna rip it out and then im gonna go get it checked by someone to look at the wires to make sure that they arent messed up and see what happens after that.
how do i fix the wires if they are messed up though???
should i just tape them with electrical tape???
ghetto but i dont know what to do

Cutting the Tach wire won't do anything. Its a monitoring wire in that it monitors the Tach signal, it doesn't send or provide its own power so it's harmless. If they removed the brain and it's still screwed there is a good chance they've cut some wires rather than just splicing wires or have caused a short to ground. If I recall correctly, there is only one wire in this install that gets cut outright and it's the starter wire. Everything else is just a tap.

ok then...

alright well ill check it out then and see what kinda mess they did in there, hopefully nothing is screwed completely. i hate to see such an awesome truck go to waste and have to dish out money that i dont have to fix it, cause im sure theyll fight it in court if it came down to that.

does anyone know where i can find the wiring diagram of the install so i can check out those wires???
that way i know exactly what to look for.

lemme know guys thanks so much for all your help ill be on pretty frequently to follow up on everything else that happens, haha hopefully you people arent getting annoyed yet.
im sure theres more to come lmao

I didnt catch what unit they installed? If we know what model remote starter they installed<---term use lightly. might be able to help figure out the exact point of the problem. I have a DEI and it works great.
