Truck broken into

So my truck got broken into over christmas. They poppped my lock clean, got in, took what they needed and left. This is very upsetting! We pay so much for these trucks and they are literally made of crap.

I bought a new lock and handle because all the plastic that holds the lock in place broke as well. It cost me $150 plus all the time to replace the parts.

Seeing how easy it was to get into my truck really scares me now. Ford really needs to revamp their design and materials being used.

^+1.

Sorry about your luck. :o If it's any solace, if they want in they'll get in, no matter what the vehicle is.

So true. My dad always said tonneau covers/caps keep people honest, but there will always be those that WILL get in no matter what.

Sorry to hear man

Consider yourself lucky. If they couldn't punch the lock, they'd just smash the window. Hope you catch the bastards.

I think any car can be broken in to with a lock like that on the door. Hell Gm uses the same lock on the 100k cadillac escalde platinum, and chrysler uses it on the challenger, 300, charger, etc. But it sucks that that happened. Just be glad you dont have to get a new window

Man, sorry about your luck! But it's really not about how the truck is made. I know how it is though someone stuck a crowbar right through the middle of the driver side door of my wife's Tahoe when she had it. Left a huge hole in the door just to break in. Why he didn't just bust a window
We'll never understand people.

I’ve often thought is there a alarm system that use a key pad/pager that does not sound an alarm that the dirt bag can hear but yet alerts only you giving you time to grab your pistol and cell phone? If you change the battery’s and are within range it would be cool to see there faces and hopefully they would raise there hand with what looked like a weapon at you!! Of course assuming you can get out your front or back door with out the perp hearing and cutting out. I love states like NV,VT,AK and a few others go Dean Heller!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry you got jacked dude.=(

This thread has me concerned since I tend to leave a lot of my sh*t in the cab. Sounds like the best option is one of those lock boxes for the console since whatever you have, if someone with skills (or a hammer) wants in they will get in.
Any comments on the Jimmy Jammer's? Looks like they would deter a quick attempt or **** the thief off enough to smash the window. If the latter, can they unlock the door with the button and not have the alarm go off?

Edit: This looks like the best option http://www.consolevault.us/f150-vehicle-safe.php anyone here have one and been broken into?

Sorry for your pain...I know what your going through.I've had a vehicle stolen on me and broken into twice.I no longer leave anything in my vehicle and leave the factory stereo in.My wife is a cop she says...if they want to get in they will no matter how good the system is.I wish there was a device you could install that would chop their hand off the minute they touched your vehicle...I know a little harsh, but it makes me smile .
