Same thing happened to me, stole everything. I bought a set of viper alarm stickers and put them on my windows. My buddy had a $500+ alarm on his lariat and they broke right in too. So why spend the extra $$ when in the end you get had anyways

Agreed. Only $500 alarm system I would buy is a 30_06 with a high powered scope.

So are you saying your buddy had a $500+ alarm that didnt work properly and sound off or are you saying that he didnt hear the alarm and react?

It's true if they want your stuff bad enough they will try but...Most thieves will pick a house or a car without an alarm/mean dog over one with an alarm/mean dog any day.

I have had my share of breakins in places I lived and vehicles I have owned but I have never had a problem in many years since I installed alarms...and had mean to strangers dogs.

A good friend asked me long ago why people wait until after the fact to consider an alarm?

The same thing haapened to my 08. Be thankful they didn't screw up the molding around the lock. They cracked my molding and it was an extra $160 in parts. I don't know if they even got into it as there is nothing in the truck to take.

Best alarm system is a live cougar, just remain calm when getting in.

Any comments on the Jimmy Jammer's? Looks like they would deter a quick attempt or **** the thief off enough to smash the window. If the latter, can they unlock the door with the button and not have the alarm go off?

Edit: This looks like the best option http://www.consolevault.us/f150-vehicle-safe.php anyone here have one and been broken into?

^^Has anybody had experience with these boxes? (sorry not to jack the thread just curious) I sometimes leave my pistol in the truck when I can't carry it into certain places and I won't to be safer and lock it up somehow

GreyStealth, did you order the lock cylinder from a local dealer or online somewhere? My lock cylinder is messed up from an attempt however they didn't manage to actually punch it in thankfully. I might still replace the trim since there is a nice pry mark on it, but it's hardly noticeable. Do you have the price of the cylinder alone?

Gixxerjasen - Since you show living in the DFW area - Call 5 Star Ford in Plano (ask for Kelly) they had the core for 50. For a $20 - he'll hook you up with a tech that can build the lock around the key. I picked up the outer handle replacement online for 20 shipped (Google Search/Shopping) and did the repair myself on a Sunday afternoon. Lot better pricing then the 125 - 200 quotes I received just to install and build the lock core - not including the core and handle replacement parts pricing.
