I've been running the HD's for over 25k miles. I'm running a leveling kit so I didn't need the 5100's up front. The 5100's do have a longer travel though and may be better in certain condition's but the HD's have been doing a good job so far.

How does the ride quality change with either the HD's or 5100s? I would hate to lose the nice ride, eventhough I know they are better shocks then the stockers. Are they noticeably stiffer?

You will get a better ride, but also a stiffer ride. You will get less roll when you corner. You will get less rear end hop over a bump.
