Rear Block or AAL???

Which is better, easier to install, cheaper and will leave my truck ridding the best? Will a 1" AAL lift the rear of my truck 1" or is it like a leveling kit and not exactly?
Thanks for all input!

A block is easier to install and will also leave you with the same ride that you have now. A AAL will stiffen up the ride and involves taking part of the leaf spring stack apart, installing the AAL and then putting the stack back together.

Installing a block for the average person is probably a 30min job, installing a AAL is 1hr-1.5hrs maybe more depending on what tools you have.

Thanks PHS!

So why would any install the AAL. Just for those that want to haul more?

No problem! Some install a AAL because they want to carry more weight and don't want the truck to sag while doing to, others may install them because they don't like the soft ride of stock truck. Others may install an AAL for a completely different reason, but I believe that the 2 above are probably the most comon.

Sounds like the block is the way I need to go. I only haul a small popup camper about twice a year.

I like my AAL. Had most of the appropriate tools. Everyone elses comments are on target. I haul more often then you though (according to your own statements), so whichever is a good fit because the price difference isnt too much

Block= Cheaper, easier to install and keeps the factory ride while lifting the rear of the truck. Has no effect what so ever on hauling ability.

AAL= more expensive, more complicated to install and normaly stiffens the ride. Lifts the rear of the truck while adding hauling performance.
