Very Cold Climates
Whenever the temps get below 0*F I just let the truck warm up for 5mins before I move it, just to get all the fluids moving and such. We had -50*F lows and -30*F for highs for a week here last year and I didn't have any problems.
I go out and start my truck 15 minutes before I leave.
This give the engine time to warm up and also gives the heater time to fill the cab with nice warm air so I'm not freezing my *** of trying to drive.

Running a good synthetic 5W-20....your engine will really thank you in the long run!....A Syn Oil flows so much better than a conventional at below freezing temps! My engine sees nothing but Syn!
FWIW, last winter we had a nice string of cold days. -25 F was the coldest my truck registered. It fired right up (the power steering pump was the only part that really indicated how cold it was) But it wasn't a problem.
Where in Maine you located?

The mid-coast, Rockland Area. Yeah, last winter I woke one morning to a balmy -17... Thanks for everyone's input. Was just checking. I do let her sit for 10 minutes or so to warm up. I never move without at leatst getting past the high idle. No problems starting ever. Just a slow, chug start when it's really cold.
