the only time ive ever broke anything was from running over a rock and a tree stump, the rock did a ton of damage, the tree stump was an easy fix. ive taken my truck through a lot of mud, water, snow, rocks, and hills and its held up pretty good other than those 2 screw ups on my part.

yep i've been through a lot of mud in my truck and have never broken anything on or off the road. oh and yep to that guy that said mud get's stuck in your rear bumper. mine has clumps in it bigger than my head and they wont fall out unless i scoop them out so i generally just leave them lol.

i've heard of people saying to drain the diff fluid after mudding but when i got my gears changed out and diff fluid changed the guys there said nothing about mud in the diffs so i guess i haven't. lol they did inform me though that the brake pads were shot due to mud/grit grinding them down so they changed them without labor cost since it was all already apart.

I do a lot of hunting and working on the ranch, spend quite a bit of time off the pavement. Just be careful and know the limits. These trucks are capable for what they are, but they also aren't built trail rigs. I've been stuck multiple times including mud, sliding off levees into rice fields, or sitting frame on snow drifts.

Only damage from offroading was warped calipers and shot brake pads when I drove through a running river up to the doors. :o Well that and paint chips from my tires throwing stuff.

yeah ive taken my truck mainly just through small holes and bent the trailer light hookup because of a rut but the lights still work fine...couple of times had water over the floodlights in little holes and got right out...dont test your truck because eventually youll get too brave

I "offroad" my truck to get where I am going. Occasionally that has been frame deep in muck, but usually just sloppy trail riding... No problems yet.

I had the abs turn off on me while offroading before. Turned the truck on and off again and the abs worked again. Other then that i would say watch out for hills. With such long wheel bases you can hit the bumber pretty easily.

With my 150 haven't really had any issues but I don't beat on it much and it's dosen't see much mud etc... But when it does no problems!

When I had my Silverado though...
I got that thing so stuck I had to climb out the back window. Then it took 6 hours of digging and towing in 30' temps and snow to get it out again. It's Funny but I'm serious...

LEASON LEARNED.....
Do NOT off road in construction sites at night in the snow on your way to pick up your girlfriend where there just might be BIG trenches for those really tall pipes you see on the trucks marked wide load...

come to think of it that has happened to me twice but only when in some real thick mud for a long period of time. the abs light just popped on then went back off later.
