Reverse light problem

Has any body had any problem with their reverse lights not working? I noticed my lights quit one day after i had pulled my trailer. I checked my fuse, and the light bulbes and both are good. im kind of scratching my head as to what is wrong. Im thinking that it may be the sensor on the gear shifter? any sugestions are welcome.

When you check the fuse, how did you do this ?

The fuse is F14 in the cab fuse panel.

This feeds the DTR ( or reverse switch if a manual trans ) which triggers the trailer tow reversing lamp relay, the reverse lamps on the truck, the Parking aid ( if equiped ) and the electric mirror.

If you meter the truck's reverse lamps, are they dead ( check using another ground )

The trailer tow and trucks lamps run through a common large connector, by the spare tire ( easiest to see if you drop the spare ) This is the same place, but the PN is from a 2001 MY truck:

In this connector, it is a Dark Green with Yellow stripe wire, which changes later to black w/ pink stripe after a splice. The trailer tow circuit is the Black w/ pink stripe wire in the connector

If the connector does not have power for the reverse circuit ( when in reverse, so take precautions chock at least 2 tires, do not start the truck, etc ), next is to check the DTR ( Digital Transmission Range ) Sensor on the side of the auto trans.
Pin #11 on the DTR connector same Dark Green with Yellow stripe wire.

I know this thread is old. But thanks for this! This is exactly what my problem was. I have been trying to figure this out for the entire summer!
