Considering a longer Front Shaft....................

Anyone with a 6" lift get a shudder in the steering wheel when in 4X4???? I took it to the shop today and they told me that i need a longer front drive shaft....so i went to my local 4 Wheel shop and they recommended the Pro Comp front shaft.........anyone have this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?????


Just don't wanna spend $300 if i don't have to.....

I had that problem with the front and rear.

I think I spent 430ish for a custom double cardan joint driveshaft for the front. I'm on a RIZE lift.

i have rize 8" and had had not problems with stock dirveshafts...

did they index the front driveshaft when they installed the lift? this is a must to eliminate the vibration.

Just don't wanna spend $300 if i don't have to.....
With just a 6" lift you do not need a new driveshaft. But what you do need to do is get your current one re-clocked and re-balanced. This means grinding down the master key, and aligning the slip-yokes. This is usually all that needs to be done for most cases.

If you still experience vibration in 4x4 at higher speeds, then get it re-balanced.
