Make sure they spray the paint and then the clear. If you go the cheapo way they will mix the paint and the clear coat in the gun.

Neither. The hood is a place you dont want to skimp on when painting. You will see the imperfections all the time while driving. It shouldnt cost more than $150-$200 to have a good shop paint it. Get some quote before you decide.

X2

I would go as far as to have a Ford dealerships body shop do the job. You'll be guaranteed to get the right color and great quality.

Agree neither, hood shouldn't cost much. I would go to a local guy. All colors have the recipe available for painters, so going to Ford is not going to guarantee squat except that the dealer did it. My body guy can out do any dealership. His prices are great and I am supporting a local small business.

I agree with rcaddell, and I think I would have it fitted before painting, you know, just to make shure all the body lines mach up.

It's not that simple. Some dealerships have crappy body shops and some chain stores are excellent. Take it to a shop with a good reputation in your area.

If my kid was sick would I take it to a witch doctor or a specialist?

Maaco typically hires a lot of kids fresh out of trade school!
