I need someone's big help!!! I was installing a viper 5601 alarm. Something in the installation went wrong. Now if the truck is running and I turn the light switch to the first on position (parking lights) the truck dies immediately. My Dome Light, door trigger, parking sensors, fuel gauge, and radio sound do not work either. I checked every fuses and relay in the passenger side kick panel, did not find anything blown. I switched the relays around too. Everything was working prior to the attempt of the alarm. Any suggestions anyone? My instrument cluster works, turning signals, automatic lights, wipers, map lights, and power windows and locks work just fine. My edge reads that I have two codes P1000 and P0463 unknown. The truck runs fine.

I would start w the parking lights Make sure you tied the right colour wirE in from the correct harness. That is an easy small mistake under a dark dash. Ps. Wire colors can. Change w different light sources

Check relays and fuses under the hood too.
Disconnect the brain of the alarm from the main and accessory harness connections you wired and see if the problem ceases. Although it's been awhile since I did 12 volt for a living, my guess is that you have one of the alarms wiring harness wires connected to the wrong vehicle wire and when connected to one of the internal relays of the alarm it is causing the problem.

On the head light switch there are two brown wires. One of the two causes the truck to die once you touch the wire together. All the relays and fueses are good in the kick panel passenger side and on the driver side under the hood. I took out the alarm and reconnected the truck back to norm, problem still there.
All wires removed. Everything back to original. How did you Connect to the factory wires? Did you.install the hood open switch?

Is you alarm still physically wired into the park lights? If so remove and try. Did you maybe wire into the sunload sensor and are now feeding power to your ecm cpc or whatever ford calls it
Yes I removed the entire alarm. I reconnected the factory wires with butt connectors. Somehow the brown wire from the light switch is causing the truck to die immediately when its reconnected. strange!!!
try this> cut the brown wire. Does the problem still occur? if so its gotta be something else.
were any of the wires you spliced into LG-VT in colour? this is the "off" position in the ignition.
I hate to suggest this but you are approaching the point of cutting out all of your butt connectors and just twisting the wires back together. The reason I suggest this is there is no good way of telling if you made a bad crimp up under the dash. One important ground could be responsible for all of this. you could use a multimeter to check continuity across all of your connections.

Going back to your original post, P0463 means fuel level sensor high input. The P1000 means monitor testing incomplete - it is nothing to worry about.
I looked up the color codes for the factory wires and I couldn't see where there may be any direct correlation between the brown parking light wires and the other items that are not working. Given all the other stuff that isn't working, my guess is that you may have grounded out one of the factory wires while you were installing the alarm. Possibly under the dash or in the drivers kick panel.
Most of the wires under the dash and in the kick panel lead back to the BCM (body control module) that is mounted on the rear cab wall. A short in the dash or kp may cause a problem at the BCM, just a thought.

How can I find a grounded wire? There is a yellow wire on the passenger side kick panel that is connected to the side of the fuse box. If you ground that wire with a test light, the problem goes away with the headlight switch. Your right there has to be a wire that is grounded. How do find it and reverse it?
