Hey guys, I need some help. you guys that have your truck lowered 2/4, how stiff did the ride get, I want to lower my truck but I dont want it to ride ruff. it rides like a cadillac now...I had my 96 lowered and it rode like a go cart ( handled good, but rode bad )

I have a Ground Force 2/4 drop on mine with Eibach dampers and it rides similar to that of a sports car, nothing harsh whatsoever.

 

mine is dropped 4-6 and still rides just as good as the day i bought it

 

What kit did you use ?

 

djm 3.5-5 and used belltech street performance shocks that can also lower the front another 3 inchs but i only did a half inch to get the 4" in the front and flip kit in rear that actually came to 6"

 

I could NOT take the floaty Cadillac ride any more so I went with a spring drop and sport dampers. SOOOOO much better.

 

whatever you do, go with a good kit. don't cut the springs or buy anything cheap. the flip kit should ride just like stock just lower with a few clearance issues. or the ground force or eibach spring/leaf kits that ride a little firmer with clearance issues if you got lower than 2/3 or maybe 3/4. clearance issue being the room between the frame and axle if you tow heavy or alignment issues if you drop more than 2 in the front. i have heard some had luck aligning with a 3in drop using factory bolts. get good shocks/struts to match the drop also.. that is probably more important than the type of drop as it determines how much effort is put into keeping the wheels planted and the vehicle under control. i went with the eibach 2/3 with 2inch drop shackles and the eibach shocks/struts and havent looked back.

Stealth, I like that kinda ride too for short distance's but Ive been useing my truck for trips and me and the wife like the smoother ride for long distance..we just drove 8000 miles in 14 days soooooo I would like it a little smooth but I like the lowered look much better

 

to be honest with mine dropped 4-6 i dont have any type of alignment issues dont have any type of premature tire wear and i can let go of the wheel and it will drive straight like a arrow
