As long as the ebay seller has a good reputation and the description seem acurate you are fine. Any place who cuts keys can cut it, but you will need a ford tool to program the key ONLY if you have 1 now. If you have 2 programmed keys, follow the instructions in the manual. Pretty simple stuff.

PTMed them ..... remove mirror glass ... behind that remove the 4 torx screws then remove cap, tape off, sand, prime, and paint.... recommend using krylon fusion paint

Same situation here. I bought mine and had 1 key and 1 fob. I luckily knew someone who has a programmer at his work and he flashed it for me for free. From reading, expect to pay $30-$50 for the key to be programmed, but once you have 2 keys, you can program more yourself for free. I ordered 3 keys from my ebay seller just to have them. Do you know your keyless entry code for the door keypad? If not you will have to do a little work to get it too.

I bought my '07 in August, dealer could only find one key and one remote, but said previous owner had promised to send another set. I ordered two key blanks and another remote on Ebay from mykeyless, about $40.70 total shipped. Remote was $13.95, key blanks with transponder were $8.95 each.

I've gotten them there before for other cars ('95 T-Bird, Forester, Mercury GM) . Buddy at hardware cut the keys. I got the extra key and remote from the dealer in mail one day and then I went and sat in truck, very simple .... truck's "PATS" will program'em both. I believe you have to do all keys at same time, same with remotes but seperate from keys.

Seems to me it takes two programmed keys to do a third or forth, takes only one remote to do remotes. That way a parking attendant can't do a key.

Instructions come with the key blanks and remotes from that vendor. Fast shipping too!

Silver, I had the same problem with my 04 xlt. I removed the rear seat upright to access the security module box (I think that is what it was)...There is a sticker on the outside that is the factory programmed keyless entry code. Use that and the owners manual to program a custom key code..Hope this works for you!

My dealer charged me $87 to program and cut a key that I had bought off ebay. I went ahead and bought another one just in case I lost it again, and they did it for free at the same time.

Shop around at dealers. Other dealers and locksmiths wanted $130 or more just to cut and program. One dealer was asking $250 for a replacement key and remote fob.

The dealer here charges about $90

But all locksmiths generally can program the keys...and I have found that the ones around here do it for about half the price or a little less. So I would buy the key off of ebay and then check with the locksmiths first.

Home Depot cut mine for free and got it programmed at Ford for $40.
Funny thing about Home Depot. The cutting is free with a key blank purchase, which are a couple of bucks. I offered to pay something for the cut but they just waved it off...

Now I understand why it works that way.

I guess today they're doing what ever it takes to bring in revenue so they can survive.

Keys

If you have 2 functional keys, my dealer charged me $32 per for a cut key. I still had to program it (using the instructions in the manual) but that was quick and easy. They told me it ran $75-$100 if they also had to enable the key if I only had one.
