Possibly Going To Germany What To Do??

Heading says it all.... possibly re enlisting for germany and ranger school as well so now my question is what should i do with my truck while im gone? Id rather not sell it as it will be paid off like 6 months after being (back as in from iraq in like 2 months) most likely and i can do w.e too it...Should i keep it in storage? Now being in storage what are some things i shoud look for and what to do to prepare the truck before bringing it in there and leaving it for about 2 years i would say ?

I wouldnt wanna leave it sitting there for two years, thats a pretty rough situation. I would probably end up selling it because I know if I left for two years by the time I would get back so many new things will be out and around I would probably end up selling it anyways and wanting a new truck. Hopefully by then they have f150 diesels.

Thats what im thinking too but this my vehicle im paying for it on my own...Had my moms toyota camry 97 as i turned 18 and had it for 3 months until i decided i couldnt stand driving that and bought this truck i have now. So buying a 21K vehicle being 18 years old ( not like other 18 yr olds that claim its theirs when their parents bought it for them.. i worked my *** off with two jobs to help pay this off working 50 hrs if not more a week )and the truck is almost paid off and just turned 20 on the 2nd . Sitting on 11inches of lift on 37s right now so i think im doing pretty good and on top of that 19 months in service and so far 10 months of it ive been in Iraq. So i really would like to keep it due to the fact its my first vehicle and it will be paid off soon and plan on making it into a show truck running 49s or 52s 4 linked front and rear.

bo your gonna have to either sell it while its worth more or grin and bear it and store it. if you do store it when you get back, your fluids are gonna need to be changed immediately, your battery even if unhooked is prob going to be dead. Do you have a family member (ie mother or father) who can keep the truck and start it every once in a while for you?

Sell it, invest the money, and buy the latest and greatest when you get back.

If you could leave it with someone you trust who would start it weekly (or take it for short drives) or even store it in a covered place and disconnect the battery, that is what I would do.
My truck is paid off and although i do have a wandering eye, it feels great not to have a $ 400.00 per month payment. Lots of other places that $ 400.00 can go.

Only thing not sure if they have laws against how wide or how tall they can be in order to bring them overseas

Damn you are in a tough spot. To get it shipped over you'd have to put it back to stock height. I did see trucks when I was TDY there so they are bring them over. You could have the lift and all shipped with your house hold goods. Then put it all back on over there.

Couldn't you just leave the truck with family? I left my car with my dad and he just drove it or started it every few days.

Even though you don't want to. My suggestion would be to sell it and bank the cash. then let it gain intrest while you're gone. That way instead of paying a storage place you can let the truck's worth pay you.

just my $0.02

As others have said, sell it it, bank the remainder of the cash, and make payments to your bank account just like if you were still paying it off. Then when you get back, you may be able to pay cash or just have a small loan for a new one.
