My springs are bent!

Been a long time since I posted here. I have an issue with my 07 2 wheel drive xl. I order these trucks with the heavy duty payload pkg and I thought all along that Ford cheapened this up between my 04 and this 07. Tonight I pulled the right rear wheel cause I was getting grinding noise and sure enough the braks calaper must have been draging cause there is no pad left on that side and the rotor is about gone. Anyway I also now see that the right side spring is all bent everywhich way. I wonder if anyone else has encontered any of these problems? Wondering what to do. Aftermarket springs both sides or just 1 side from ford or replace both from ford?

I'd say it's been a long time, you only have 1 post. The one you just made.

Anyways... you bent the leaf springs or are they just misaligned? If actually bent I'd probably replace both sets at the same time with aftermarkets.

It's fairly difficult to actually "bend" a spring. Any chance you could post up some pictures? That will make diagnosis and advice much more accurate.

Very true, the spring steel that they use to make coil and leaf springs will 99% of the time break before it bends into a shape other than what it was originally formed into. I can honestly say that I have never seen a "bent" leaf spring, but I have seen alot of broken ones over the years.
